NEW PRODUCT RELEASE: Tree Brand Packaging Launches Coil Storage Rack Systems.

April 25, 2016

Tree Brand Packaging, based in Charlotte, NC, has announced the addition of two heavy-duty hardwood Coil Storage Racking Systems to its range of specialty packaging for steel service centers.  According to Mike Drake, GM, Tree Brand’s Tennessee Division and a steel industry veteran, “Our Coil Racks are designed and custom manufactured to safely and effectively handle ‘master steel coil’, and protect it from product damage.”  Tree Brand stated that enhanced safety – the ability to secure the multi-ton coils and keep them from rolling is a major benefit of its Coil Racking System.  Eliminating contact with the abrasive materials on the floor also “maintains product integrity and reduces scrap,” Drake explained.

Tree Brand’s Coil Racks are available in several sizes for service center coil handling and storage applications. The standard two coil rack will accommodate coils with up to 72 inch outside diameter. With the use of customer supplied side plates and bolts, these racks can be joined end to end in order to store an unlimited amount of steel coils in a safe and secure row. We also offer single coil racks for smaller locations, or for end of row applications. For details on all available sizes and applications contact Tree Brand Packaging.

NEW RELEASE: Tree Brand Packaging Expands Operations with New Facility in Atlanta.

January 23, 2015

Tree Brand Packaging, headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., has just announced the launch of a new facility in Atlanta, GA.  “We are committed to locating in close proximity to our customers – it’s the most effective way to provide the level of service, quality, and responsiveness that Tree Brand is known for,” explained Chris Helms, President of Tree Brand.  “We picked up a major industrial compressor manufacturer for our specialty drilled pallets & skids, and along with our other accounts in the area, this created the perfect motivation for establishing operations in Atlanta.” The Atlanta facility will focus on specialty packaging requirements, including heat-treated lumber for export, and precision-built crates, boxes, pallets, skids, and coil cradles, according to the company.

The Georgia facility also provides Tree Brand with efficient channels for sourcing a wide spectrum of the raw materials required for its custom wood packaging.  “From southern yellow pine and OSB to hardwood from our Tennessee Division, we have access to the best species for our customer’s value-added packaging,” stated Charles Brumblelow, General Manager.  A veteran with 35 years of experience in the wood products, operations, and service arenas, Charles said that the Atlanta facility will work closely with Tree Brand’s established Chattanooga site.  “Some of our customers are looking for high volumes of quality pallets, and by working with Mike Drake and the Tree Brand team in Tennessee, we can leverage their processing capacity to fulfill the needs of our customers – It’s a real win-win for our regional strategy,” Charles said.

NEW PRODUCT RELEASE: Tree Brand Offers High-Performance Runners for Metals Packaging.

May, 2013

Tree Brand Packaging, Charlotte, N.C., has expanded its metals industry product line with the introduction of the TRU-RAIL Returnable Support Packaging (RSP) system. In contrast to a conventional wooden skid or platform, TRU-RAIL runners or spacers are utilized individually for flexible placement to support bundled sheet product. Offered as a 'greener' alternative, TRU-RAIL runners are manufactured from 100% recycled HDPE engineered plastic resins to provide greater dimensional stability, and extended trip life.

TRU-RAIL RSP is available in either 'solid' or 'hollow' versions for both inhouse and transit applications. Tree Brand indicates that the choice of system design is determined by load capacity and bundle requirements. Both 'solid' and 'hollow' styles can be ordered to fit the length of sheet product, and the unit load being built. TRU-RAIL is available in 1 foot increments, and may be custom-branded or labeled to facilitate returnability.

TRU-RAIL runners are made of non-absorbent plastic material that is moisture and oil resistant, prevents rust, is splinter-free, and provides superior product protection, the company states. These features eliminate the need for excess paper packaging, thus reducing waste disposal costs. Because the TRU-RAIL system is based on individual component runners, it offers more space-efficient and sustainable storage, staging, and return footprints Tree Brand claims.
